Lol funny, I was just thinking about this today..

Thing is most of the electric cutouts I can find don't include the Y-pipe you need and most are just about $200.

I really want to do an electric cutout but it seems really expensive.

                        Re: Electric cutouts`

I've been thinking about using an electric cutout before the over-the-axle pipe on my stock exhuast setup. I work in the AM (have to be there at 5) so the quiet stock sound is ok for me. (although the look of dual tips would be nice)

But other than having to make that drive that early in the morning sometimes I want to open it up a little louder, give it some depth. Think I may do this... I would need a 2.5" cutout right or is the stock 2.25"? Whats the opinion on clamping instead of welding? Eventually it'd be nice to get a catback, nothing extreme probably the Flowmaster 2.5" so I could carry this over and it'd be nice not to have to cut the welds on it.

depends what size piping you currently have...but, IIRC, I don't know of any company that makes a 2.25" cutout. Clamping is a poor substitute for welding.
